Battle of the Bands!

The first-ever Kansai Music Conference Battle of the Bands contest will pit Kansai pop, rock, and R&B groups against each other for the title of Kansai’s Best Band!

Entry opens June 1st and runs until June 15th, where bands will upload videos of their live performances. The top 12 entries will be chosen by judges from the KMC Board, and the four finalists will be chosen by online voting open to the public from July 1st to July 15th. The final four will be announced August 1st and will perform in a stage battle on September 19th at the KMC Final 4 Band Contest. The winner will be crowned during the KMC Awards Ceremony on September 22nd.

Supported by Kansai Scene, the winning band will be featured in the magazine in a two-page write up. Other prizes include a ¥30,000 cash prize courtesy of Shalestone Music, a prize package from D’Addario Asia including tuners, strings and drumsticks, and 20 band t-shirts courtesy of MB Prints. The runner-up band will receive three hours of free rehearsal studio time at 246 Studio in Juso and a prize package from D’Addario Asia including strings and drumsticks.
