If you’re mad about these fat, white strands of joy, then look no further than the Udon Museum in Kyoto. This newly-opened museum, perfectly situated in the renowned Gion district, is a temple for all things udon. There are displays on udon history, major ingredients, that to-die-for soup stock, plus noodle samples showing the huge variety of shape, thickness, color, and length. And that’s just for starters. You can try 45 mini-bowls of specialty udon from around Japan, and get your hands on over 100 different types of dried udon at the souvenir shop.
