In print since 2000, Kansai Scene magazine is a free publication for visitors to Japan’s incredible Kansai region, an area that includes Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, Hyogo, Shiga and Wakayama prefectures. It was published monthly until July 2018, but is now a seasonal publication, released four times a year.
Kansai Scene introduces the wealth of historical and cultural gems, travel experiences and sightseeing spots that the Kansai region boasts, including its Unesco World Heritage sites, serene temples, incredible castles and vibrant shopping and entertainment scene.
The print and online versions of Kansai Scene feature articles on local and international travel, local culture, food and drink, history and entertainment. Our separate listings website (Kansai Finder) covers local events, festivals, art exhibitions, flea markets, cinema, club and live music.
